The Rev. Morrisson arrived from the South by the Ta-kapuna this morning.
The Yen. Archdeacon Cole returned to New Plymouth yesterday afternoon.
Sergeant Twomey, of Onehunga, left for Waiuku this morning, on a visit of inspection.
Captain Hutchings, late of the s.s. Taxawera, has transferred to the s.s. Takapuna.
The passenger,s for the South yesterday afternoon included the Revs. Latter A. S. Wilson and Brocklehurst.
Mr. W. S. Short, chief clerk or the Roads Department, is to hold commissions at Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, and. Cambridge, Auckland, next' month.
Mr. W. J. Beynolds, secretary to the Auckland Football Association, is still in the Auckland Hospital, but is making a good recovery after an operation for appendicitis.
The Mayor of Auckland (Mr. A. M. Myers) and Councillor Bagnall, will pro* bably leave for Wellington on Sunday afternoon, to present to the Government the Council's objections to the Tranrwaya and Fire Brigades' Bills.
The marriage of Mr. Joseph Parker, chief sub-editor of the " Evening Post," to Miss Vera Maodonald, daughter of the Hon. T. K. Maodonald, took place at St. John's Church, Wellington, on Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. J. Paterson, assisted by the Rev. Dr. Gibb, conducted the ceremony. The bridesmaids were 3553 Rubi Seddon, Miss Hilda Mcc, and Miss Ethel Rutherford. Mr. Aubrey Mcc was best man, and Sir Kenneth Douglas and Mr. T. Y. Seddon, M.ILR,, were the groomsmen. There was a large gathering of friends at the church, and a similar assembly at a reception at Somerled, the residence of the brides' mother.
