THE KING'S PRIZE. VISITORS BEATEN. AUSTRALIANS FIRST AND SECOND. (By Cable.—Press Association Copyright.) (Received 10.20 a.in.) SYDNEY, this day. At the Rifle Association Meeting, Cutler, of Bathurst, put up a record of 238 out of 250, and won the King's Prize for the second time. Linn, of Orange, with 230, was second; Naval Warrant-Officer A. J. Raven, of Great Britain, .third, and Sergeant W. Tatlow, of Great Britain, fourth, each with 229. Of the New Zealanders, Rifleman Craw (Chorlton Rifle Club), with 229, takes £8; Rifleman A. Ballinger (Petone), with 222, wins £3; Sergeant Mills (Dunedin), Pirrin, W. S. Speck, and C. Speck, each £2; and Rifleman Cameron (Opaki). Corporal Ayson (Marikuku), Private Purnell (Wanganui), Colour-Sergeant Hadfleld (Blenheim), Rifleman Masefield (Sounds), and Rifleman Wilkie (Upper Hutt), £1 each. SYDNEY, October 24. At the Rifle Meeting, Cutler, of Bathurst, won the King's Prize, worth £100. Linn, of Orange, filled second place, and Sergeant Tatlcw (a member of the British team) third. The scores were not available to-night. None of the New Zealanders took prominent places. MELBOURNE, October 24. In the Federal Senate, Mr. Walker read a letter from the manager of the New Zealand rifle team, at present in Sydney, complaining that the New Zealandera were being treated differently to the British in the matter of railway passes and tent charges. A Government inquiry was promised.
