The reports in connection with the expenditure at the Hospital, were referred to T>y Dr. Stopford at the meeting of the City Council last evening. The doctor said that he would like to hear a statement directly from one of the members of the Council who were on the Hospital Board. To his mind, the reports in the papers made " tight" reading, and ho thought that Councillor Bagnall, as the chairman of the Board, should be requested to furnish some statement. In reply, Mr. Bagnall stated that the Inspector - General of Hospitals had now completely confirmed the necessity which existed for the works going on at the Auckland Hospital..
