In connection with the, novel point of law" raised in the Magistrates' Court by, Mr Wilford, the Magistrate (Mr Riddell}] held that counsel had cited no authority to support his contention that, as a contract was made in South Africa, the law; of that country should be applied in deciding a dispute. The rule as to the enforcement in one country of. a contract validly made' in another was 'that the law of the country in which the action was. brought must apply. Judgment was given for the plaintiff with -costs. Mr, Wilford gave notice of appeal. : •.: .
