Mr. R. J. Hamilton has Joined the Government s.s. Hinemoa. The s,s. Kildale sails for Sydney at daylight to-morrow morning. Mr. J. H. Mcßae, late third engineer of the Takapuna, has transferred to the AraMr. J. Baldwin, late of the Kniapoi, has joined the s.s. Haupiri as second officer, hura. Transhipments ex the Aratra from London were landed at Auckland by the Haupiri to-day. Mr. J. Hazard, chief officer of the Manuka, has resigned from the Union Company's service. The s.s. Yeddo is now fully dne from San Francisco, and should put in an appearance at any moment. The s-s. Bucentaur was expected to leave Calliope Dock at 4 o'clock this afternoon. She sails shortly afterwards for Melbourne. The s.s. Harbart is expected to arrive at Lyttelton to-day, and on discharge sails for Auckland. She has a part cargo of phosphates from Moji (Japan) for this port. The Auckland passengers and cargo by the Rimutaka, which arrived at Wellington yesterday afternoon from London, Capetown, and Hobart, will reach this port in the Yfalkare on Sunday morning next. The "Christchnrch Press" states that Mr. Garrard has received Instructions from Lieutenant Shackleton, in charge of the Antarctic expendition, to procure two n-haleboats for the Nimrod. The order will be placed in the hands of Mr. Thompson, of Kaipara, who constructed two similar boats for the Morning. The s.s. Hanpiri arrived from Wellington and East Coast ports last evening. The steamer met with fine weather until yesterday, when a strong north-west wind, with frequent rain squalls, prevailed, lasting until arrival. The Hanpiri leaves for Limestone Island at 9 o'clock to-night, returning to Auckland on Saturday morning next and sailing for East Coast ports and Wellington the same afternoon. FIFESHIRE LEAVES LIVERPOOL The Federal-Honider-Shire liner Fifeshire sailed from Liverpool on Saturday last direct for Auckland. The vessel Is due at Auckland about December 13, THE MATATUA. The s.s. Matatna, which left London on October 10 for Auckland, has for this port 3400 tons of cargo, Wellington 1450 tons, and Bluff 2SOO tons. She Is consigned in that order, and Is dne at Auckland on November 24. THE MOKOIA. The s.s. Mokoia left Sydney at 2 p.m. yesterday for Auckland, and should arrive here on Sunday afternoon next. The Mokoia has 205 passengers and 750 tons of cargo for Auckland. She leaves on the return trip to Sydney on Monday evening next. THE TALUNE. The s.s. Talune arrived from Dunedin, via ports, at 10.15 a-m. to-day. She left Dnnedln on Friday last, and experienced fine weather until passing tbe East Cape yesterday afternoon, thence strong N.W. winds and high seas to arrival. The Talune sails for the South again on Saturday next. THE HAUROTO. The Union S.S. Company advise that although the s.s. Hauroto is time-tabled to arrive at Auckland from the Society and Cook Islands, she will probably not pnt iv an appearance here ttnttl Saturday morning next- This Is explained by the fact that the steamer is calling at a larger number of islands on this trip than ordinarily. The Hauroto sails for the Eastern Pacific Islands again on Tuesday next. UNION CO.'S NEW STEAMERS. Dunedin, October 24.—The Union Co. are advised that their new turbine ferry steamer Maori arrived at Colombo on Saturday, and left the same day for Fremantle, en route for Dnnedin, where she is due early in November. The Marama, the company's inter-colonial liner, is expected to reach Melbourne on Wednesday next.
