LAZIEST MAN AT WORK.
SLEEPER "WHO KEPT HIS BED FOE 29 YEAES DRIVES A HORSE AND CART. George Thompson, the Clare man, who remained in bed 29 years, and was offered by the music halls a handsome salary for appearing as the laziest man in the world, was seen in Lurgan, County Armagh, last month. During his long period of repose he only put on his clothes three times, but .he had been in Lurgan once before. That was two years ago, when bis home was temporarily broken up owing to his mother's illness. Thompson was then carried to the workhouse In the ambulance. He -was In charge of a horse and cart, carrying coal for his landlord, when he was recognised last month, and a chaffing 'crowd collected round him in Bigh-st,:j Lurgan. The <mob for some time pre--vented 'him from performing his duties, and at 'last he found refuge In a shop.
