A meeting of those bowlers who have been selected -for the Sydney trip will be held in the Sports Club's room on Thursday evening, October 24th, for the purpose of selecting two players to replace vacancies, and to consider the advisability of increasing the number of players to take the trip. : T understand the management has received about a dozen applications for positions, and considers it desirable to rescind the resolution limiting the number of players to 26. Out of the 26 originally chosen only two have failed to deposit the necessary guarantee of good faith.

The-Mount Albert Club's new ground will not be available for any part of the coming season, as work upon it will not be started in thorough earnest until about January. It is hoped to have it in good bowling trim for the following year. \

The Devonport Club is initiating the season over the water this afternoon, and, with good weather, a thoroughly enjoyable game is assured the roll up of members and visitors on the excellent green of the marine club.

This will probably be the last season the Mt. Albert Bowling Club will be under the unvarying kindness of Mrs. A. T. Garlick, in allowing the members use of the bowling green so beautifully situated on "Ferhdale." Owing to the everincreasing membership of the club and the fast-growing popularity of the Mt. Albert, district, the club have purchased; ground sufficient for two bowling greens, and intend to proceed making one green early next year. The-rules of the club-have been revised, and -approved of iby the Government registrar, with, a -view; <to registering "the clubs under the provisions of the "TJnclassified Societies' Act." One special feature of the club's constitution is that it will be .fr.-»e • from the sale -or consumption of intoxicating liquors or gambling, and at no this be altered. The thanks of the club are due to Mr. J. -H. Garlick for his services as green superintendent.
