TRAMWAY ACCIDENTS.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The recent sad accident on Pon-sonoy-road makes one wonder if nothing can be done -to prevent similar accidents in the future. Might I suggest as a preventive that all passengers be requested to. leave cars by the front platform, and to board same at back. This would give the passengers a chance to see approaching ears from the opposite direction, as most accidents that have occurred have been from the rear of the cars. This would also prevent much confusion, as a large number of passengers are to be found at both back and front of cars at the same time, struggling to get both on and off. The change, I think, would tend to minimise the risk of accidents such as are occurring.—l am, etc., J. H. MULDOON.
