' (By-Telegraph.—Press Association.). 1 ■ GREYMOUTH, this day. | A distressing fatality: occurred in the Grey River, near Blackball, last evening, when Constable Lyons and Joseph SkinIrier, draper, of Blackball, were drowned. lit appears that the two deceased and a man-named John Smith went ; fishing in ia canoe, which capsized. ..';. - Constable Lyons rescued Smith,, and then went to the assistance of Skinner j is thought to have caught hold of I Lyonsa-and rendered him powerless. Both were drowned, and the bodies have not yet been recovered.
