WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

At the monthly meeting or the waipa County Council the supervisor reported that the continued wet weather had clone vmn'ense damage to the roads, and had prevented any satisfactory progress being made with county work. He was preparing specifications in v'.ew of future works. The Paymaster-General advised that a sum of £S7, the balance of the contribution in respect of flood damages, had oeen placed to the credit of the Council, it was decided to contribute £30 towards the cost ol a new road from Newton-road to the Frankton creamery. The town clerk of the Cambridge rsQrou.an Council wrote that it was intended '.o effect considerable repairs to the _araplro bridge as soon as the high level bridge Is open for traffic. Morris, of Jv'caruawahla. wrote that several mlla suppliers had Ueen cut otT owing to the flooding of the cuttings on the NgaruawahiaTe Kowhai Road, and asking that they be raised sufficiently to make the road passable during an ordinary- flood. The supervispr reported that the work of raising the worst cutting'was now in hand, but it would be impossible to prevent the flooding of the road at various, spots, owing to the tact tnst it was only a few feethignew than the river.
