POLICE COURT.

YESTERDAY.

Committed for Trial.—The hearing of j the charge against William Albert Simnionds and David Green, of brealdng and entering the dwelling of Quang Sang, at Epsom, on September 10, and stealing 11/9, was continued, Chief Detective Marsack prosecuting, and Mr. Hackett defending. In giving evidence on their own behalf, both denied having committed the offence, Green pleading an alibi, in support of which his sister gave evidence, declaring that her brother could not possibly have been at Epsom at the time the robbery was alleged to have occurred. Accused were both committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed, each in his own recognisance of £100, with two additional securities of £50 each. THIS DAY. Inebriate. —George Sandeman, who has made several appearances of late, was fined £2 and ■—b fare, in default fourteen days' imprisonment; Samuel Lee, whose record was less serious, was fined £1 with a seven days' alternative; Arthur Gribble, a second offender, was also fined £1, alternative seven days. Three first offenders were dealt .with as usual. Deserting.—A young sailor named Lambertus Later, convicted of deserting from the Norwegian ship Inglewood, was remanded one week that he might be reI fcrned to his vesseL
