MT. ROSKILL DEBATING SOCIETY.
A pleasant gathering took place at St. Alban's Hall, Mt. Roskill, last evening, when the Mt. Roskill Debating Society provided a very enjoyable entertainment. The programme, which was arranged by the ladies of the society, was received by the audience with every mark of appreciation, several encores being demanded. A nicely prepared supper was then handed round. The programme was as follows:—Piano duet, Mrs Huke and Mrs McKinstry; song, •Mr Fred- McKinstry; violin duet, Messrs A. S. Reid and Mr A. Ross (encored); song, "Jack Ashore," Mr Horspool; song, Mrs McKinstry (encored); glee song, Benedict Quartet Club (encored); violin solo, Mr A S. Reid; song. "Doreen." Mr Horspool; violin solo, Mr. Raynor; recitation, Mr Hobbs (encored).
