The half-yearly report of the ConunfiT' cial Banking Company at Sydney ahotn that the profits were £97.600. Ajiividend at the rate of 10 per .cent <wss declared. Added-to reserve, £20,000;-car-ried forward, £27,600. In. commemoration of his sixty year's connection with the Bank, it was decided to present Mr. Dibbs, general manager, with a service of plate, and to have his portrait hung in the Bank.

The Coal Lumpers' Union discussed the employers' proposals with closed doors. The result of the meeting has not been divulged. The union will meet again to-morrow- The prospects of a setttanent are still considered hopeful:
