There were no less than 100 tables in use and the attendance was considerably greater than the number of aetnal players. The management of the party was in the hands of Mesdames Brett, Baume, 'Bloomfield, Alexander, Benjamin, F. E. Baume, Coleman, Corbett, '~E. R. Davis Devore, Dargaville, Goldie, Greigg, Holland, Houghton, McDowell, L. Myers, A. Myers, L: D. Nathan, S. Nathan, N. A. Nathan," Nelson, Tayler, Thome, Payton and Rathbone, Misses Connolly, Onthwaite,_and Porter. The euchre tables were in charge of Mrs. Devore. while Mrs. Alexander superintended the bridge, and each of these ladies deserves special commendation for the manner in which the •arrangements were carried out. In the bridge competition the first ladies' prize (silver sweets bowl) was won by Mdlle. Coche, and the second' (Japanese bowl) by Miss KissKng. The only gentlemen's, prize (a bridge outfit) was won by Mr. Walker. In the euchre division, the first prize for ladies (a silver-backed hairbrush) was carried off by Miss F. and the second (a pair of silver vasesH>y Mrs. Culpan. The first prize for gentlemen (a silver-mounted Morocco cigarette case) was won by Mr. H. M Clark,'and-the second (a picture) by Mr. J.Simms. . Mrs. A. E. Devore, president of the -Ladies' Committee, presented the prizes. An excellent supper was provided under the superintendance of Mrs. Benjamin, and; the . evening concluded with a.dance, Messrs. Armiger and Marriage gratuitously supplying the music.
