ELECTRICAL POWER AT OUR DOOR.

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—lt has long been recognized that one of the greatest sources of power in the world lies in the tides. Millions of h.p. are twice a day running to waste around Auckland- Can this be harnessed? Inventive genius, though much wrought thereon, has so far apparently failed to evolve an effective method of utUjsing the normal rise and fall of this vast body of water.
