(By Telegraph.-—Own Correspondent.) ......WAIHI, this-day. Owing to the continued spread of measles in the eastern end of trie tcjwn, the eastern school was closed yesterday for a fortnight. So far the outbreak seems to be practically, confined to the east, though a few eases from the Central school have* been reported. There was a very heavy frost last night, and indications appear favourable for good weather for the Auckland-Goidfields match to-morrow.

As already indicated in the "Star" last week, the Rev. J. Salter has resigned the pastorate of the Baptist Church, for the purpose of taking up farming at Athemee, near Katlkati. His resignation has been accepted with regret by the deacons.
