SAD TRAGEDY.
YOUNG GIRL CUTS TTEfr THROAT.
A VICTIM OF INSOMNIA.
A very sad tragedy occurred this morning in the house of Mr J. T. Stevenson, situated at the corner of Baker and Nelson-streets, resulting in the death of a young woman named Annie J. L. Roose. It appears that for some time Miss Roose, who is Mr Stephenson's niece, has been suffering from insomnia, and was very despondent.
This morning she got up as usual, and commenced preparations for breakfast. After a time she stopped and went into an adjoining room. One of the other members of the family missed her, and calling, received no answer. The room was then entered, and a terrible discovery was made. ■ Miss Roose was, lying face down on the floor with her throat cut. A razor, covered with blood, was lying on the table near by. The unfortunate girl was quite dead when discovered.
