The urgent necessity for increased wharfage accommodation at Onehunga was was again exemplified yesterday. When the Takapuna arrived from !N«w Plymouth there were already seven vessels berthed, and she had to double back outside the Corinna. This arrangement, notwithstanding the excellent arrangements made by the Union Company's manager at the port, (Mr. W. M. Saunders), who had gangways placed across the Corinna, caused a lot of delay and inconvenience, which was increased by the fact that the luggage and mails had to be taken ont of the Takapuna by means of the Coriima's derricks. The trade at Onehunga has grown to such an extent that the facilities provided at tlie wharf for the shipping are altogether inadequate, and it is high time something was done to remedy the present state of affairs.
