The programme provided was of a highly interesting and generally exciting character, and the hearty applause liberally given to the performers left no doubt as to the appreciation of the audience. The exhibitions of bareback riding, hnrdle-jumping. and buck-jumping brought into evidence much daring and skill, and the feats of Mr Sydney O'Neill in back-to-front riding attracted special attention, Mexican Bill, in his exhibition of lassooing and crinoline work was also warmly re-, ceived. A feature of the evening was a competition open to local or country amateurs, for the rider who could sit an "outlaw" for the longest period, a handsome silver cup, presented by Mr Lindsay Cooke, being the prize offered.
