Chelsea v. Papatoitoi.—This match was played at Papatoitui, Chelsea winning by 6 points to 3, after a very close game. Tries were scored for Chelsea by Mackay and Williams. Birkenhcad v. Otahuhu.—Won by the latter ny 14 points to nil. On thu No. L" ground, Remuera, the students from the 'Varsity registered their seventh win, beating St. John's by 3 to nil. This means that University have" won the hand-some Liauncr presented to the Union by Messrs StuiUi and Caughey, and it is likely that the rest of the matches will be cancelled. "Varsity have played 7 matches, won 7, scoring 64 points to 3 against.
