A GUMDIGGER'S DEATH.
A telephone message was received by the police yesterday, staling that a gumdiger named Robert Tyre Penk, aged 49 years, had been found dead in his whare at Henderson. His brother had missed him for two days previous to the discovery, and eventually went to -fie whare to find him. On being summoned to the place, Constable O'Grady found the deceased fully dressed, sitting at the table, against which he was leaning. There was no mark of violence on the body. The deceased, who had been addicted to drink of late, had been visiting Auckland, and returned ta Henderson on Friday, with a considerable quantity of iiquor. . He is supposed, to have been a married man. An inquest on the body is being held by the Coroner (Mr. T. Gresham) at .the Fall J.otel, Henderson..
