ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME.
A CHAT ABOUT NEW ZEALAND.
(By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.)
LONDON, July 11.
The King and Queen Alexandra, accompanied by Princess Victoria, have been enthusiastically welcomed at Dublin, where they visited the Exhibition. His Majesty, in responding to the presentation of an address, rejoiced that the Exhibition had proved, successful in promoting the commercial and industrial prosperity of Ireland.
After a long inspection, especially of the Irish Industries' section, the Royal visitors drove through the principal streets of Dublin, which were conspicuously decorated, amid a continuous roar of cheering and flutter of handkerchiefs. There was not a note of dissent.
Their Majesties were greatly pleased. Later on they attended a garden party at the Vice-Regal Lodge. The King and Queen spent some time at the New Zealand Court at the Dublin Exhibition, and conversed with the Hon. W. P. Reeves, the High Commissioner. Their Majesties showed much interest in the photographs of red deer when informed that the Prince Consort had presented the earliest specimens of red deer to New Zealand.
The cold storage exhibits were also inspected by the Royal visitors.
