THE GOLDFIELDS.

TALISMAN CONSOLIDATED.

VERY SATISFACTORY RETURN.

£17,517 FROM 3470 TONS.

Each month latterly the returns from the Talisman Consolidated Mine show an improvement. The output for June is an exceptionally good yield, and this gratifying result "is manifestly dne t» the ore crushed being aoove the average grade. During the month of June 3470 tons of ore were treated for a return of bullion valued at £17,517 18/7. Owing to a breakdown of mill shafting, causing a stoppage of 3i days, the tonnage milled is considerably smaller and the cost per ton higher. The cost per ton was £1 16/9, made up as follows: —Mine development, S/3; mining, 11/5; millig 14/11; general expenses, 2/2. The improved value of the ore is shown by the fact that in April 4136 tons of ore yielded £11,345, but in June, when 666 less tons of ore were treated, the bullion won showed an increase of £6172 as compared with that -for April. Appended are the detailed returns: — From Dec, IS9S, to 1906., £598,886 9 9 Period ending— January 31, 1907, 2555 tons 12,500 0 0 February 2S, 1007, 3774 tons 12,314 19 7 March Si, 1907. 3SIO tons 11,559 12 4 April 30, 1907, 4136 tons .. 11,345 0 O May 31, 1907. 4410 tons .. 16,979 13 2 June, 3470 tons 17,517 18 7 Total to date £665,603 13 5 Total dividends declared £135,000 0 0
