AUSTRALIAN TRAGEDIES.

MAN TTTT.T.Tm AT NAEEANDERA, CHARGE OF, MURDER. A young man, William Cole, was ar-> rested at Narrandera (N.S. Wales), on ■Tuesday last, and charged witfli the .wilful murder of George Bennett (53), charcoal burner, who had lived_ in Narrandera for many years. It appears that Cole and Bennett had a quarrel in the street, but afterwards drove away in Bennett's cart, apparently on good terms. About four o'clock the police received information that Bennett had been murdered.

Constables Hennessy and O'Brien proceeded to Bennett's house, about a mile from town, where they found Bennett, apparently dead. Dr. Broad was sent for immediately, and pronounced life extinct.

From what can be learned, the only witness to the tragedy was the victim's daughter, about 14 years of age. After inquiries, the police arrested Cole, who is only 23 years of age. Deceased leaves a widow and family.
