Waldemar Sax, who -hails from Siberia, in addressing ■ a Socialist meeting, characterised the Governor-GeneTal as " a thief, a murderer., and a loafer." The detectives, police officials, and other officers in authority he also condemned as loafers. He declared that he had come from Russia to help the people of Australia. Convicted for this verbal outburst, he elected to go to gaol Instead of paying the fine imposed.
