A rather novel and unusual method of I migration occurred at Okura, South Westland, a few weeks ago. Mr. H. H. Cuttanee, a very old settler, having purchased a farm in the Lake Wanaka district, decided to remove to his new home via the Haast Pass. He therefore packed all his household goods on a number of horses, each of the family —of which there is a goodly number— being also provided with a steed. All the live stock of the farm, consisting of a number of milch cows and other stock, was driven on in front of the cavalcade.
