(From Our Ov, n Correspondent.) BAG LAN. .Tune 7. A start, has been made to pull down the old building by the successful tenderer for ihe erection of the new Courthouse aud Police station. Now that the new valuation rolh are available, Ihe Council intend to take the necessary steps to raise the proposed loans In the TVhaingaroa and Karioi ridings. The rates will, of course, be reduced in proportion to the increased valuation. At a well-attended and representative meeting, held at Te Mata on Tuesday lasr, it was decided to form a minature rifle club. Mr. 11. T. Gibson, convoner, explained that Captain Norton (Raglan Mounted Rifles) had offered to provide Morns rubes and ammunition, provided that all rai-mbars become members or honorary members of the Raglan Mounted Rifle.-;, it was decided to accept the offer. The latest addition to the busiuess quarter of the town is a handsome and imposing i structure >n Bow-street which has Just been erected for Mr. Curtis by Mr. Haistnan.
