MURDERED AT PRAYER.
Abdul Kadlr Alsa_ a, am Arab millionaire and chief of the Mabommedan community of Singapore, died on April 13 from wounds inflicted by an unknown assassin. *ith his family he was performing bis sunset devotions on the previous Wednesday tn the verandah of his house. As be bowed towards Mecca, his mtte and children prostrating themselves beside him a shoe, a cry, and the sound of running feet were heard beneath the verandah. AlSagoiT fell preme with a bullet in nla body. His servants raised him and placed bim ■ upon a couch. Others ran from the bouse, and went hot-foot after the assassin. -But in the quickly gathering dusk the miscreant easily escaped. The wounded man lingered _ until noon on PrMay. when he expired.
