SANITARY SERVICE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —-Mr. Poet's letter ,on the above subject is very misleading, and some of my words he has evidently misconstrued. He was told that the late sanitary contract expired on April Ist la£t, and that many of the pans had had their natural life, and, some being condemned, had left xts short: but the Council had 2000 new pans on the way to completion, and the company 300, so that in a very short time the sanitary service would be in proper order. Re his personal complaint, I offered to send a man up at once to his house lo rectify anything the men might have accidentally done. He remarked that it was not necessary, or words to that effect. As regards the Council's consent to swilling, etc, that is bis own construction.—l am, etc., MANAGER A.S. COMPANY.
