WAIHI CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY.
A meeting of Auckland creditors of the Waihi Workers' Co-operative Society was held yesterday afternoon. It was unanimously decided to press for the compulsory liquidation of the society. It was further agreed that Mr. E Gerard, the Official Assignee, was the most qualified person to act as liquidator, and. that he be asked to undertake the work. (By Tele^iaph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHL this day. Since Mr. F. R. Bover. late manager of the Waihi Co/ODerative Society, committed suicide, a thorousrh investigation of the affairs of the made. A meeting of the committee was held last night, and it was decided that a meeting of shareholders be called for next Friday night. In the meantime a systematic canvass of the shareholders should be made and, judging by the offers of support of a proposal to obtain additional capital, it is believed that sufficient capital will be forthcoming to redeem the situation. Mr. O. B. Irwin is now acting as .manager.
