He was fully convinced of the great good that experimental farms were to the community. Such farms were established in j Auckland and Wellington provinces, and I he considered the -hould be continued in the South Island. The farmers of Zealand., not <>i! the Xorth Island , only, had to r-ornppfp in the market* of the world, and it behoved v* to do aIL that was possible to ensure oar products ! being able to miiinTain that present hip;h I position. The Argentine was from year i to year pnshLn-i it-elf forward, and it | was only now a matter of time when it , would be cur doughty competitor. He j had only that day beea informed by a | friend that so preat was" the progress j being made in the Argentine, and so great was the effort that was being made to- improve the quality of its- output, that within a few years that country would send barter to the London market equal in quality to that of New Zealand.
