KEEPING IT DARK.
(To the Editor.)
Sir,—Just why the shipping noticeboard at the telegraph station is kept in the, darkest possible corner (and always has been for years), must, I suppose, always remain a Departmental secret. If it were only hung on the other wall, about 12 inches away, where the light would shine on it, it could, of course, be read with ease at all hours, by the hundreds of people who daily consult it. Now, if you want to find anything on it after four o'clock, you must strike matches—if you have them. And I never have them! Is this another of those South versus North matters that we read so much about in the papers?—l anr, etc., BUSINESS.
