A meeting , of members of the Auckland Parliamentary Assembly is called for tomorrow ev-ening at S p.m. in the Leys Institute, Ponsonby.

At the Police Court a man named Arthur Fisher was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on each of nine charges of theft of tableware; consisting of. knives, forks, and spoons, belonging to J. A. Manson. The terms were made to run concurrently. The value of the articles ranged from 3/ to 22/6.

Mr Arthur Ford, of Coroniandel, has just received from Wellington his patent rights for an improved device for raising beer or-other-liquids through glass tubes from the cellar to the bar without the usn of lead pipes and brass engines, thereby saving exertion and preventing all deleterious effects occasioned by corrosion, also saving the loss of liquid which has to be thrown away every morning. At the late trial the publicans aad others pronounced it an immense success.

Still another list has been left by ji committee of residents in Bayfield to raise funds to assist a widow, who used up all her resources in nursing a dying husband, .and when the end came was left in an impecunious position.
