A FALSE DECLARATION.
A PARENT SENT TO PRISON. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DTTEECAEGILL, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court to-day John McFadden, school tea.eh.er. was charged with a false declaration to the registrar •with regard to the age of a. girl whose illegitimate child he was the father, and was sentenced to eighteen months' imprisonment. His Honor stated that he aaJ to look at all the circumstances, and not simply at; the offence with which the man was charged. The prisoner, who pleaded guilty, was a school teacher on the Wesc Coast, and the girl one of his pupils, and the false declaration was made at Wyndham, to which place both parties removed.
