POLICE COURT.
THIS DAT. (Before Mr. J. R. Walters, J.P.) The Drunkards.—Thomas Farquhar was fined 10s and costs, or 48 hours' imprisonment, for his second offence. Three first offenders, who did not appear, forfeited their bail, and four were discharged on payment of costs. A fine of 20s and costs, or three days' imprisonment, was ordered in the case of Francis Harrington. William Williams, Edward Ganning, and Jiimes Brett were each fined and remanJed until to-morrow to answer charges of breaking their prohibition orders.
Alleged Assault.— George Mack was remanded until Wednesday on a charge of assaulting Captain Warm. Disturbance in Albert-street.—Two men named John Sydney Hirds and Arthur William James Johnston pleacfed guilty to threatening behavioufr in Al-bert-street. Sergeant Hendry said the charges were the outcome of a disgraceful disturbance in Albert-street, in which a mimber of men had been concerned. He also mentioned that Hirds had but recently been discharged from gaol. The Bench inflicted a fine of f 5 and costs, or one month's imprisonment, in each case. Johnston was remanded until to-mor-row on a further charge of using obscene language.
Indecency.—Jofin Walter BHyard and Samuel Cardwell were remanded until to-morrow on charges of indecency.
