CHILD'S SAD DEATH.
DROWNED IN A CREEK.
Mr. T. Gresham, Coroner, inquired this morning into a sad drowning case which occurred yesterday at Grey Lynn, the victim being Thomas William Byron, aged two and a-half years, whose parents live in Westmoreland-street. The deceased went out to play with an elder brother, aged four. He failed to return home, and the father, upon making a search, found its body lying in a pool of water, about three feet deep, in Sack-ville-strcet. not far from his house. Albert Edward Byron, father of deceased, deposed at the inquest that he worked at Warnock's Factory, and lived in Westmoreland-street. He last saw the child alive at 7 a.m. yesterday. There an elder brother, about 4 years of age. At dinner time witness was told tho child was in the creek, and upon ; soing there, found him dead.
Elizabeth Byron, wife of the former witness, deposed that she saw the child about a quarter to 11 o'clock yesterday morning, playing with the elder brother, who afterwards came inside. Witness asked where the other child was, and he replied "Outside."
The jury returned a verdict of "Accidentally drowned by misfortune."
