(By Cable.—Press Assoclation.-Copyright]
MELBOURNE, September 25. Sir Wm. Lyne has received a reporlj from Dr. Tidswell. who was appointed by the Government to assist in carrying out the initial laboratory experiments with Danysz's rabbit virus.
Exhaustive experiments have been made with carnivorous birds, fowls, native small birds, pigeons, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, and monkeys.
Dr. TidswelPs report says that the whole course of the experiments has revealed that while causing mortality amongst rabbits, the virus, as far a3 natural means of infection are concerned, is remarkably innocuous with other kinds of animals exposed to it.
He recommends further experiments oh a larger scale on Broughton Island, where preparations already have been made for fully testing the virus under natural conditions.
