MELBOURNE, August 17. The Federal Exrase of Representatives has further modified tbe spirit duties by reducing the excise duties, practically 1/ on all items, to bring them into conformity with the Customs duties. The difficulty in regard to the new spirit duties so far as the regulation that spirit must have been two years in bond has been removed, suspension for the present being granted, and there is a rush to take spirit out of bond. The revenue is benefiting to the extent of £7400.
