GIRL SOLD AS A SLAVE.
A typical Moorish scene was witnessed at Tangier at the beginning of last month. A young black girl was recently brought to the city, and, as it was sola as a slave. Her father arrived from Rabat, and discovered that his daughter had been bought by a former Pasha of Arzila. The father, much distressed, Is now perambulating the streets proclaiming his wrongs, and publicly demanding the restoration of his daughter and the protection of the authorities. These sort of scenes naturally cause excitement and resentment amongst the Europeans, bec-anse the Sultan has several times promised to aboßeh slavery throughout
