NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it Is proposed under the provision*! of "The fubllc Works Act, 1905," by the Waitemata County Council, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a pumping station in connection with the Northcote Water Supply Works, on part of *>ection 73, PariEh of Takapuna, and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is further given that the plan of the said road, and of the land so required to be taken, Is deposited for public inspection at the Office 'of the Waitemata County Council, 15, Palmerston Buildings, Queen-st.. Auckland. And notice is also hereby given that all persons affected by the execution of such public : work or the taking of such land shall, if they have any well grounded objection to the execution of the said public work, or to the taking of snch land, set forth the same In writing, and send such writing within 40 days from the first publication of this notice to the Minister of Public Works, Wellington. Meeting of the Avondale Road Board wil be held oh SATURDAY, the Sth day of September, 1906, at 7.30 P-m., for the purpose of considering, and if thought advisable confirming a Resolution passed at a Special Meeting of the said Board, held on the 6th day of August, 1006, that certain By-laws bo made. The object of the proposed By-laws is lo prevent "heavy traffic," as defined in the Public Works Act, 1905, from being-taken along the roads under the control of the said Board during the months of May, June. July. August, and September, in every year, Jand for computing the weight of the contents of any vehicle or machine, from the cubical measurement thereof, and also to prevent the carriage of water pipes, collars for water pipes, lead, metal elbows, gas pipes, stone, scoria, and manure along such road., until the estimated

cost of reinstating the same shall have been previously paid to the said Board. A copy of the proposed by-laws has beeu deposited at ihe ollicc of the undersigned at Avondale. and will remain open for inspection between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. fronj the date hereof until the data of the said meeting. THE CHAIRMAN AND INHABITANTS OF THE REMUERA ROAD DISTRICT HEREBY GIVE NOTICE (I) That the Remuera Road Board proposes to engage in the following undertaking, namely, the Draining of the North-eastern District of the Remuera Road District; (_) That the Remuera Road Board, being unable to provide the necessary funds for such works out of the ordinary revenue of the Remuera Road District, proposes to borrow the sum of £4_,000 at _ rate of Interest not exceeding 4. per cent per annum; (3) That the proposed security for the repayment of such loan shall be a special rate of elevensixteenths of a penny UI-I6UI d) in the £ on the capital value of all ratable property iv the North-eastern District, and levied, for the purposes of such loau, and the Remuera Road Board proposes to make provision for the payment of a sinking fund of at least _ per cent per annum; (4) That the Remuera Road Board proposes to pay out of the loan such costs, charges and expenses as the Board may determine to have been actually incurred in connection with such loan, but the Board docs not propose to pay out of the loan the interest thereon for the first year. Notice is hereby given that after 30 days from the date hereof, it is the intention of the Tamaki West Road Board by Specia Order, to make and levy a Special Annual Rate, to be called a Sanitary Rate, or One Farthing in the Pound upon all property within that portion of the Tamaki West Rood District, known as St. Holier a Bay Township, being the whole of the land shown ou plan deposited in the Land Transfer Offlce at Auckland, No. 410, for the pm-pose of defraying all expenses Incurred in connection with the removal of nightsoil from and within the said portion of the district known as St. Holier. Bay Township aforesaid, au estimate of the total ratable of all ratable property within such portion of the said District, and of the cost of the proposed work, is deposited at the Office of the said Board, Tamaki West, and will be open for inspection of all ratepayers during office hours. Notice is hereby given that a Special Meeting of the Mount Wellington Road Board will be held at the office of the Board. Ellerslie, on MONDAY. September 10th, 1006, at 2 p.m., for the purpose of considering, and if thought tit of passing and confirming as a Special Order a Resolution adopted at a Special Meeting of the said Board on August 11th, 1906, to make and levy a Special Rate of _d in the pound npon the ratable valne of all ratable property in the Ellerslie subdivision of the District to provide interest and charges in respect of a loan, £5000, proposed to be raised with which to provide and construct the necessary plant aud materials for a water supply to the Ellerslie subdivision of the said District, such Special Rate to be an annual recurring rate during tbe currency of the said loan, and to be payable half yearly. The proposed Special Order is to take effect on September 24th, 1006. A copy of the said Special Order has been deposited at the Office of the Board.
