' Sarah! In goal for the visitors, 'played a fair game,' but was not ' up to his usual form". At full-back Anderson played very well, but Hill on the left was rather slow at times. In the half-back line Porter showed fair form; but Kavanagh was undoubtedly weak. He . wandered too much. In the forwards Jessup was,the only one to play irclL none of the other* being conspicuousjfor good play. Cameron, at left fuU-backf for Manawatu, was undoubtedly the besti bach on the ground, his stopping and biting being splendid. The halves also werTbetter "than their opponents. In the forvtords Fraser, on the wing, played splendldlr,. shooting two good goals, while the other wing and the centre forward also_plajed well. The referee carried out his dutUs splendidly. . A
