NORTH NEW ZEALAND COURSING CLUiK The North New Zealand Coursing Club opened their new Plumpton at Otahuhu last Saturday, when the first two rounds of the Maiden Stake were run off Tfe weatner was line, and there was a" splendid attendance, and great interest was taken in the various heats. Mr F. W. Cooinbea officiated as judge, and Mr L. Brennan as slipper, the work of both gentlemen giving entire satisfaction. The afternoon's sport was well conducted by Mr C. R. Tapper, the hon. secretary, and the various officials! the only exception that could be taken being that several of the heats were run. off too quickly, which prevented speculation besides making a long wait for the train. A number of peucillers were plying their calling-, but backers if anything had the best of it. the buik of the favourites getting Dome in their heats. Results are as follow:— i FIRST ROUND. Robin Hood beat Lady Waterford; All Black beat Warrior; Ellerslie beat Pickaninny; Slim ji m beat Peter Jackson; Eureka beat Butcher's Prig; Pantrygirl beat The Freak: Monogram beat Magistrate; Waireka beat Tiburon; Sweetheart beat Kippling Water, after an undecided; Baily-e-Gren beat Motto; Nonsense beat Deception; Sweet Nell beat Wild Lad, after an undecided; Helen AVood beat Sungod; Bit o' Blue beat Miss Brandy; Lockfire beat Glenore; Don Juan beat Pedicure; Lagoon beat Hiawatha. SECOND ROUND. Robin Hood beat All Black, Slim Jim beat EHerslie; Eureka beat Pantrygirl; Monogram beat Walreka. after two unde■cideds; Bally-e-Gren beat Sweetheart; Sweet Nell beat Nonsense; Bit o' Blue beat Helen Wood; Don Juan beat Lockfire; Lagoon a bye. The concluding rounds will be run off next Saturday, when a 16-dog stake (entries for which close on Wednesday nest at 5.30 p.m.) will also be' run for.
