Holmes, census enumerator for tlie City of "Auckland and the Boroughs of Farncll, Newmarket and Grey Lynn, has completed the returns fnt; the three boroughs named, the'city alone remaining in his dfstrict. The number of inhabited dwellings -was, lOlTj and uninhabited The Grey Lynn figures are—Males 2R15, females 30G7, a total of 5582. Five years agn -fhe population was 4110, an increase during that time of 1772. 'Che number of inhabited dwellings is 1132, and uninhabited 41. In Newmarket the population is— Males 1193, females 114H, total 2342. Last census the population was 20G0, the increase thus heing 282. The number of inhabited dwellings is 4(i6. uninhabited 14.
