WHOLE OF THE ASIATIC QUARTER DESTROYED.
THE MINT REPORTED TO BE ON FIRE.

NEW YORK, April 19. Tne whole of the Asiatic quarter of San Francisco has been destroyed. The Jesuit Church and College of Saint Ignatius, erected at a cost of two million dollars (£660,000), has been demolished.
It is reported that the branch mint of the United States Government is ablaze, but owing to the blocking of the streets it is impossible to obtain definite information.
