SPECIAL ORDER: Public notice is hereby given that at the Ordinary Meeting of the Auckland City Council, to be held in tbe Council Chamber. Coburg-st., Auckland, on THURSDAY, the 26th day of April. 1806. a Resolution-will be submitted for the confirmation of the following Special Order, made at a Special Meeting of the said Council on the 29th day of March, 1908, viz. :— That the Auckland City Council doth hereby, by special resolutton, intended to operate as a Special Order, resolve:— fl) To acquire an area of 28 acres 2 roods 3S poles of land at the corner of the Main South and Portage reads, near Otahuhu, and to erect thereon buildings and yards, and construct drains, roadways, railway siding, and all other works necessary for the establishment of an Abattoir under the provisions of "The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900," and the amendments thereof (2)'Belnjr unable to provide the neces sary funds for such works out of the ordinary revenue of the City of Auckland to borrow a sura of not exceeding twenty-six thousand pounds sterling (£26.000) at a rate of interest not exceeding 4} per cent per annum. (.3) To pledge as security for such loan the said lands and buildings and the Terences derivable therefrom (subject; to the payment out of such revenue of all expenses of. working the Abattoir), and the revenues of the City, of Auckland (subject to th*> existing loans chargeable oa such revenues). (4) To make such loans repayable in twenty-one (21> years, and to make provision for the payment of a sinking fund of JE* per cent per annum. (5) To pay out of the loan such costs, charges and expenses as the Council may determine to have been actually incurred in connection with such loan, aud ail preliminary expenses connected with the establishment of the Abattoir, also tbe interest upon tne loan for the first year. That out of the surphis from the Waterworks Loan Account of £16,250, raised on the 20th dnv of September. 1904. the sum of £525 be appropriated to complete the purchase of the land at Lake Takapuna, agreed to be purchased from Mr Shakespeare for waterworks purposes. 2.
