A FALL FROM A TRAM.

Shortly after six o'clock last evening an old man named John Donaldson, who lives at Wkareora. met with an accident on the College Hill tramline. He was a passenger on a car which this proceeding at a good pace past the destructor, and it is stated that without waiting for the tram to pull up he stepped off, the result being that he was thrown heavily on to the road. The alarm was given by some of the passengers, the conductor being busy inside the car, and the old man was picked up bleeding from a bad cut on the side of his head, and considerably dazed from his fall. Temporary aid was rendered at Mr Henderson's shop, after which, on the advice of Dr. Sharman, Donaldshon was taken to Ra-wlingstone Private Hospital. On inquiry this morning the injured man was reported to have improved slightly. ■
