Gray, M.A., the May meeting will be held in St. Andrew's Halt, and the Rev. A. M. Caldwell- will contribute the paper.on that occasion. The President gave Jin interesting address on the subject, '"Some of the Denominations of the Far East," making special references to his own travels- in - Japan.-' Mr Dixon rer ceived a iiearty vote of thanks. BENEFIT CONCERT. A beuefit conceit was"teiidPred to Miss 0. March lust Friday evening at the Public Hall. Avondale. Mr Bollard. M.H.R., presiding. There was a largo attendance, the hall being crowded to the,, doors. A most enjoyable programme wus gone through, the following ladies and gentlemen contributing items: Misses Neil, Shortrldge (2), Belcher, Tait, Taylor, and Charles, Dr. Carolau, Messrs Aickin. McMahon, Arnold, Astley. Elliott, Whitehead, Bevan, Chrdstmas, and Will Skerritt. The accompanists were Messrs Binsted, E. Berry, and Dr. Carolan. Miss N. Belcher was- secretary for the concert. After the concert the hall was cleared, ;and a dance was held; V.M.C.A. The Board of Management of the Y.M. C.A. held its first meeting after the annual election last night. Mr F. Q. ~ Ewlngtou presided- The visit of Mr D. A. Budge, of, Montreal, was considered, and a 'special committee set up to make the necessary arrangements. Mr Budge is expected to arrive on Easter Monday. A resolution of sympathy with Mr P. Carter,' the "victim of a rather serions accident, tvas -pussed, as also the following motion: "That this board desires to place on record its high, appreciation of the valuable services rendered by Mr Thos. Buddie, who for over 40 years has so faithfully and efficiently carried out the duties of honorary secretary to the association, and is now retiring from that position. The board feel that words cannot convey an adequate Idea of the good work accomplished by Mr Buddie, and while regretting his loss as honorary secretary, rejoices that his help and counsel are still retained us vice-president of the assosciation. Four full members and ten associates were received, and a special" committee was appointed to make recommendations for the standing committees.
