EDUCATION ACT INTERPRETATION.

WELLINGTON, this day. The Education Board has resolved to take the advice of the Solicitor-General on two questions arising out of the Education Act passed last session- (1) Whether all members.of a Board retire on an election-taking place, or whether only those members go out who would otherwise have had to retire this year (2) Whether. i n case of.there being only one applicant for a teacher's vaeancv it is necessary for the Board to send this name on to.the committee before making- the appointment. - Ttr te felt That such an instance of sending, on a" name to .the committee would serve no pur. posce, and only cause dehivs aud appojntments., . . * r
