The motor launch race was simply a test of the speed of the new launch Togo, the only other starter being the Union. The course was 105 knots Togo allowed the Union 10 minutes. The handicap was given at the start. Togo finished an easy first at 4h 21m. the Union completing the course at 4h 29m 15s. The Togo averaged a speed of 145 knots per hour. The winner completed the course iv 42m 30s. MANUKAU YACHT CLUB.

The itanukau Yacht Club sailed its second race of the season last Saturday. The handicaps were as follow:—Ngarorna, scrMaka Haile. 13m: Moa, 17m; Sarah, 22m' Alma, 24m: May Ree, 27m; Endeavour, 35m : Spray, 38m; Mascotte. 37m; Myrtle 42mUnknown. 45m; Mavis, 50m; Petrel, 50m; Seagull, 56m. The race started at a quarl ter _ *£*$'?■ o' olol *- MSavS led throughout and finished at 4h lm 30s. 15$ m ahead of Petrel, which finished second. The others finished as follow: — Endeavour, 4h 19mMyrtle,- 4h 20m; Mascot .c, 4h aim 30s' Spray, 4h 26m; Almi, 4h 28m 30s; May Bee! 4_t 28m; and Ngaroma, 4h 35m 30s.
