Canon Haseldev arrived from Napier In the Tarawera today. Mr Dixon Ward returned to Auckland by the Kanieri from Whangarei. The Hon. W. Sutherland concluded his visit to New Zealand, and returned to Fiji yesterday. Mr. C. Ranron, general manager of the Northern S.S.Co., went to Whangarei last night hy the NgapuM. Miss M. Whitelaw leaves Auckland on Sunday for Wellington, and there joins the Gothic on her way Home. Madame M. Hooton left Auckland yesterday in the Navua for Suva, where she joins the Vancouver mailboat en route for England. The deatli is announced of Mr Archibald McCallum, 76 tyeara of aje, an old Wairau settler, who came here 50 years ago from Scotland. Dr. Herz went South yesterday in the Rotoiti. Mr. G. F. Gray, the Liberal organiser, returned to Auckland from the youth yesterday by the Botoiti. The Revs. Brown and Morrison went South yesterday by tne Rotoiti, and the Rev. Mr. Reid arrived here by the same boat in the morning. Mr. E. G. Jellicoe is returning to England from Wellington nhortly to contest the Walton division o.f the Liverpool electorate in the Liberal interest. Mr. T. E. Donne, Superintendent of Tourist Resorts, is visiting the Waitomo Caves, which were recently taken over by the department. He spends some days there seeing what can be done to make the place convenient and easy of access to visitors, and then is expected to reUirn to Rotorua. to deal with other publems awaiting solution there.
